Pop wrapped in the scent of lavender: a unique destination for festival guests

As part of the ongoing 65th International Flower Festival in Namangan region, a press tour was organized to the lavender fields of Pop district. The event brought together representatives of regional and local media, journalists and bloggers. At the opening ceremony, Deputy Governor of Namangan region Botirjon Nuritdinov delivered a speech, noting that this year’s festival has become even richer in content. He emphasized that new tourism locations are being developed across the region, while the “Lavender Festival” is gradually becoming a traditional event. During the press tour, participants explored vast fields where medicinal and aromatic plants are cultivated. They received detailed information about lavender cultivation, harvesting, processing stages and the economic efficiency of this valuable crop. According to specialists, lavender is considered a high-value export-oriented crop that can produce harvests for many years after being planted once. For this reason, it plays an important role not only in agriculture, but also in the development of agritourism and the processing industry. Currently, within the framework of a project worth 40 million US dollars, “MEHRIGIYO” LLC has launched the cultivation of medicinal plants and the production of confectionery products on 500 hectares of land. This project contributes to creating new jobs, increasing export potential and promoting the brand of local products. The endless lavender fields stretching along the mountain slopes aroused great interest among festival guests. The purple landscapes attracted attention with their natural beauty, unique fragrance and special atmosphere, making them an ideal location for photography. A concert program was also presented as part of the event. National melodies, a festive atmosphere and the gentle scent of lavender created a memorable experience for the participants. Events of this kind, held in Pop district, serve to widely promote Namangan’s tourism potential, develop agritourism and increase the investment attractiveness of the region.
