The 65th International Flower Festival, which began on 24 May this year, offered 50 days of celebration for admirers of beauty, flowers and creativity. According to preliminary estimates, more than 1.1 million international tourists travelled to Namangan specifically to attend the festival, while the number of domestic visitors exceeded 7.5 million. These figures demonstrate the festival’s growing international profile and increasing appeal as a major tourism event. The festival’s official closing ceremony, awards presentation and grand concert programme were held at the amphitheatre of Yangi O‘zbekiston Park in Davlatabad District. Governor of Namangan Region Shavkatjon Abdurazzoqov delivered a congratulatory address, highlighting the significance of the 65th International Flower Festival and its important role in promoting the region’s tourism potential internationally. During the ceremony, neighbourhood communities, enterprises and organisations, local administrations and flower growers recognised as winners in various categories received cash prizes. Four Onix cars were also presented as the festival’s grand prizes. Leading farmers who made a significant contribution to the region’s grain harvest were awarded certificates of honour and commemorative gifts. A grand concert featuring renowned performers and artists from the region created a festive atmosphere for the audience. The closing celebration concluded with a spectacular fireworks display. Over its 50-day programme, the 65th International Flower Festival further strengthened Namangan’s reputation as the City of Flowers and established itself as a major cultural and tourism event of global importance.
